Under Pressure

This song has a great message.  There is so much pressure.  If we don't stop and take a moment to slow down, we might nearly explode from all the pressure we put on ourselves. We have pressure to be these "perfect" people; always saying, thinking, doing the right things.  No one is perfect.  Perfect is an illusion.  The only perfect there really is, is your own individual perfection.  The one you define...what "perfect" is for you, is the only one that should matter. Things get scary and complicated when we try to impose our own personal ideas of what perfect is on other people. We are all so alike, all these individuals making up the human race.  We are also so different. I feel that if we focus on the differences, we will never really see any beneficial progress for our human race and for our world. So let's focus on the similarities!
When we all come into this world, we unconsciously desire the warmth and comfort of our mother's arms, to feel how we did in the womb, totally enclosed and protected.  That was our first glimpse of love.  Love is our biggest similarity.  Our bodies react positively to actions of love.  We are literally changed when we are hugged or kissed.  At the end of the day, we want love; to be loved, and to give love.
I love our differences...it creates a world of interesting ideas, but more than that, I love our similarities...we all love love!  We all have the chance to create a new world, driven by love.
My goal for today in the Love Revolution, hug my family as many times as they will let me.
